Finding a coin in the fish's mouth
So this is divinely amazing… I’m making a scrapbook of photos and ephemera of my recent trip to Manila and on a whim decided to bind it today. The way I bound it, I started from the outside instead of the inside so it was awkward to finish the ends. So I decided to do something a bit different and tie it off on the outside, and attach a key ring I got from Manila to it.
A random seller came to us as we were heading to the car and I got some of his fish key rings because the colours were so pretty and it seemed like he really wanted a sale. Near the end of our trip, I also decided to save one 20 peso coin because I really liked the design of the bronze and silver and wanted to display it in my scrapbook somehow.
Well I was going to put the coin in a plastic ziplock bag as a memento and attach it inside the book somehow, but God had a better idea… because I realised tonight as I was binding the book the coin would better suit being put in the fish since it’s designed like a coin purse. So I put the coin in it and I realised I was staring at an illustration of the temple tax Jesus paid through Peter who on catching the first fish he saw had a single coin in its mouth that paid for the both of them.
Which is totally amazing to me because it shows God’s miraculous provision for us in such an illustrative, visual, profound way. That He works with us and our work matters to Him!!! And it’s right on the cover of my scrapbook, even though I never really intended to make it this way…🤯🤔 which really does serve as a reminder of how blessed the whole trip was because it had so many unexpected moments and really touched me in so many ways. The Lord is amazing!!! I love Love and I love how He is in all the little details 💕🎊
Did you know the 20peso coin features the Nilad plant? According to Wikipedia not only is it the etymology of Manila, its dark brown wood can be used to craft small objects. Leaf extracts are known to be helpful for stomach aches. The flowers can be used as a cleansing or laundry whitening agent.
It’s a God thing. I am in awe!!!!
